This site began as an unusable slope, the brief was to transform it into a functional family kitchen garden for the owners to grow vegetables. It needed levelling off which was done by creating two flat terrace spaces.
The level spaces were planned to include raised vegetable beds, greenhouse, lawn, paths and relaxing area.
The terraces are retained with earth bags, this was the most sustainable method. The raised beds are constructed using permaculture principles to supress weeds and retain moisture. This is designed to keep the kitchen garden low maintenance so that the family can spend more time enjoying the garden and cooking and eating the produce.
