This site needed levelling off and turning into a family kitchen garden for the owners to grow vegetables. I did this by creating two level terrace spaces...
Next the level spaces were planned to include raised vegetable beds, greenhouse and relaxing spaces... all of this to be safe for children to enjoy.
I designed the retaining wall for the terraces be built with earth bags from the site, this was a sustainable and cost effective method. The wall was then planted up to create a true living wall. The roots tap into the earth bags and become part of the wall itself.
The raised beds were designed with permaculture materials and then topped with wood chips to suppress weeds and retain moisture. This is designed to keep the kitchen garden low maintenance so that the owners can spend more time enjoying cooking and eating the produce with friends and family.
